Tuition Information
The tuition for both graduate programs is the same for residents and non-residents of Massachusetts, including students from other countries. MFA and MFAWC Program students typically enroll in four courses per semester for 15 credit hours. MSAE students typically enroll in 6 credits per semester, including summer, and TPP students enroll for 9 or 12 credits per term. The figures below are derived from a standard registration for students enrolled in these programs. The Health Insurance charge will be waived with documentation of an alternative carrier.

The College does not have a graduate residence hall, but the Graduate Office does offer assistance to students seeking off-campus housing. Occasionally graduate students apply for housing in the College’s Artist Residence which primarily houses undergraduate freshmen students. Please refer to the undergraduate figures for estimates of living expenses. The Graduate Programs make no attempt at estimating supply costs given the wide variety of studio practice.
Tuition Waivers
Certain restrictions apply to Tuition Waivers. The graduate programs at MassArt are not state supported (we receive no state funding to support these programs). To use a waiver for graduate courses, students must be matriculated in a MassArt Masters Program, or Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program. All fees must be paid for both undergraduate and graduate courses. Registration for students using tuition waivers is on a seats available basis. Please note that this benefit does not apply to noncredit courses, directed studies, practicum, internships, field studies, off site programs or other arranged courses. You should call for eligibility rules and specific waiver policies.
The MFAWC Low Residency MFA Program in Provincetown is an off site partnership and does not accept any tuition waivers.
